WHAT IS HOMEOPATHY?
Homeopathy was started in the late 1700s by German physician Samuel Hahnemann and is based on what he described as the law of similars: the idea that a substance capable of causing particular symptoms in a healthy individual will cure similar symptoms in a person with disease.
Homeopathy is the branch of medicine which is based on the principle that disease can be cured by strengthening the body's natural defense mechanism. This is different from conventional medicine, which uses drugs to suppress symptoms. Homeopathy enhances the body's ability to dispel disease by working with the body's own efforts to regain health.
Specially prepared remedies used in homeopathy contain minute doses of herbs, minerals, or animal products that are diluted and agitated so that only minuscule amount enter the patient's body. The particular health pattern being treated can and will change and appropriate homeopathic remedies must take all of this into account.
Homeopathic remedies are incorporated in our integrative treatments to support the overall healing response and set patients up to have the best possible treatment outcome.
